Barium sulfate is better than most other filler powders in coatings. It has the characteristics of low cohesion, low light dispersion, fine particles, etc. It is particularly suitable for pigment topcoats, varnishes, spray paints, etc., and has chemical resistance and weather resistance. Its inertness, insolubility in organic media such as water, acid, alkali, excellent gloss, and fine particles keep the topcoat in good condition during long-term exposure. Barium sulfate is recommended for topcoats to increase surface hardness and color stability. Barium sulfate has high filling properties and can be used in all coating series, such as primers, high-paste coatings and other types.
The dispersibility, optical rotation and flowability of barium sulfate can increase its chemical properties.
The average particle size of MICROBARI submicron barium sulfate is about 1.3um, which is about twice that of titanium dioxide particles (average particle size is about 0.3μm). When MICROBARI submicron barium sulfate is added, its mesoscopic microcrystalline particles can separate the agglomerated titanium dioxide particles. Its introduction can increase its gloss and fluidity, such as art paper and medium white transparent color paper. Titanium dioxide can be partially replaced by barium disulfate without losing gloss. Barium sulfate is particularly suitable for elastomers. In medical treatment, radiological examinations use barium sulfate mainly to absorb X-rays in the gastrointestinal tract to make it develop, so it is mainly used as a gastrointestinal contrast agent. It is also a laxative in the pharmaceutical industry and a raw material for the production of stomach medicine magnesium trisilicate. It can also be used to produce fresh yeast, monosodium glutamate and a stabilizer for calcium hydrogen phosphate for toothpaste, and is also used to prepare plant hibernation extenders. Glass products are used as clarifiers to defoam and increase gloss. It can also be used as a raw material for ceramics, enamel, spices, pigments, and other barium salts.
